Home is an elusive thing.

A balcony full of plans, and a home to find

This year I had big plans for my balcony. Corn, for the first time. A better way to grow potatoes and tomatoes. The cucumbers already gave me a good harvest, and next summer was going to be even more sunflowery.

But my landlady has other plans. She is moving back, and so I am looking for a home again.

In the past year I have moved five times: Leipzig to Potsdam, Potsdam to Bonn, Bonn to Potsdam, and then Berlin. This would be my sixth move. This time I would really like to stay somewhere for at least two years, and maybe finally see the corn grow.

What I am looking for

A 1–2-room flat from December 2026 or January 2027, in Berlin (Friedrichshain, Prenzlauer Berg, Charlottenburg, Wilmersdorf).

I am not sure posting this on my blog will get me a home, but such is the desperation. If you know something or someone, please write to me. I am a fairly nice person and can give references if you like.

When it was windy, it was quite difficult to save my sunflowers from falling. Not a fan of winds in Berlin. Photo: Pius Fozan
